MONSOON MAXI DRESS

Monsoon season is a time for regeneration, growth and happiness with lush green bed from mountains to your balcony. One gets to witness umpteen colours of nature be it in a rainbow, or the flowers around. So going with the monsoon theme of being colourful and airy, I choose to wear long dresses than the usual monotonous jeans and top.

I wore a Prussian blue Maxi dress asymmetrical hemline from Max Fashion India to compliment the colours of surrounding green and the blue sky. It also has a white shade merged with the blue that adds to the softness of the dress and Ahh, the red tassel perfectly adds to the complete vivid look of the dress.

Satchel and Sneakers

A satchel bag looks sassy with the maxi dress. I am very particular about pairing bags with clothing as neither of them should have a control over the look and they should be synchronise with each other (that's my way of styling). As a maxi dress is long one, a satchel bag of a medium size gives a formal look as well as a brunch-party look. Caprese's leather Tyler satchel bag is an adorable, classy bag from the recent collection. Also, you can switch to sling as it has got detachable and adjustable sling handle. Isn't it too much to ask for in bag?

I love wearing sneakers with one piece regardless of the length of the dress and I'd do the same with this dress too. So going away from the usual white I have chosen the aero blue Adidas Original campus blue sneakers. It's the best substitute for flats or sandals and a good option for those who prefer wearing flats. Kolhapuri chappals are another best substitute that will go along with a long one piece dress. Though a pair of block heels sandals certainly will highlight your attire for a party or a traditional event.

Another Look

This time I wore a sky blue pure cotton rendered with handblock print pairing up with belt buckle ankle nude pointed shoes. I got this dress from a local exhibition of handicraft. We all shop from branded stores, but the local men, women working on the handicraft put in their efforts manually and should be highly appreciated. I love handicraft dresses as the meticulous refine work by the craftsmen adds to the chic and elegance style.

With this dress I have paired a leather sling bag from The Bombay Store. The Bombay Store products are a blend of traditional and contemporary style with its 'swadeshi' intricate design on the bag. By now you must have seen that I rarely wear accessories. For me the best accessory is watch, I am wearing a Tissot Flamingo Diamonds watch and I wear it instead of a bracelet. But a rose gold, silver or gold chain bracelet will also go with the sky blue dress.
