Lights, Runway, Models, designers, dress, confidence, fashion, creative and a lot umpteen things are on. The 18th Lakme Fashion Week'18 Winter edition has begun.
I was constantly on the social media watching the shows live, checking the instagram posts, the hashtags, website. Also, a big thank you and a bear hug to #gqindia, #missmalinifashion, #vogueindia, #lakmefashionwk, #thevofashion and also to other social media accounts of the designers for keeping us updated. INIFD Gen Next
When I went through the schedule of the five-day Fashion Week, I was surprised to see the first show on the first day to begin with the new designers from the Gen Next. The collection of the Gen Next left me gobsmacked, it sets a new mode of style with confidence along with variety of prints.

ABRAHAM AND THAKORE
COCKTAILS AND SAMOSAS
The coolest designers of the day! The beautiful amalgamation of the eastern tradition rendered with the country's style of embroidery and art did justice to the title.
I can't take my eyes off from the kickass clean winged eyeliner. The hair bun looks perfect on a Kimono as to let us have the look at the aesthetic ensemble with loosened collar.
The pictures appears to be shinning and so do the designers with their amazing in the cocktails. How cool it is, a kimono paired with shorts, a bar jacket and shorts in silk than to have it paired with a palazzo or in silk pants. The designers' collection were adorned with black belt to tie a kimono, or wrap around the waist or simply a bow on a top.

Abraham and Thakore have portrayed vivid styles of draping a saree. Now we know how to give a break to the regular styling of a saree for the Rakhi occasion.

CHOLA
Welcome Queer Fashion, titled "Bye Felicia"
I was stunned to see the collection by Chola, it was a bold and a challenging show. Prateik Babbar the showstopper and models strut down the runway with quirky sunglasses, and the whole craziness brought attention to the drag culture representing gender fluidity. Chola's edgy theme of Bye Felicia emphasises on the double entendre of the mindset of the people in the country about drag culture that is looked down upon is gaining attention in the country. Did y'all notice the colour "grey" used throughout the collection, that makes it like being in the grey area confidently and without fear. SIMPLY WOW!

Elle Graduates: Untitled Co. by Rinzin Lama’s
Every piece of art of Rinzin Lama's collection was fresh, simple and floral. The essence of every dress was soothing and had a spring-look vibe. Being a handicraft lover I am obsessing over the silk oranfza floral XL full sleeves top and the skirt. The delicate intricate design on the separates is light and pleasant something one would wear on a festive occasion or a party by the beach.

AMRICH: Rahul N Shikha
The collection showcases separates in hand-made khadi, silks and wool. The designers choice of blending the traditional and contemporary way of embroidery has got our attention for its chic yet traditional fashion statement. I have decided my next winter wear, the khadi cardigan with smoky eyes. How lovely!

The Miniaturist: Good Earth
Good Earth's collection was a dream sequence of astounding traditional dress in gota art work, embroidery giving it a royal feel. It celebrates every girl's fascination with princess and dressing up like. The grand theme of the Good Earth was a major highlight of the first day at Lakme Fashion Week.
